Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 includes an Android emulator that can be used as a target for debugging an Xamarin.Android app: Visual Studio Emulator for Android. This emulator uses the Hyper-V capabilities of your development computer, resulting in faster launch and execution times than the default emulator that comes with the Android SDK.

- Nothing yet will post here for sure if get to a solution.
- I had the same problem and I found that if Xamarin studio is running on Mac, it will block ports 5554 and 5555. Close it, run in Parallels Windows 'adb kill-server' (Visual Studio will restart it) and restart the SSH connection.
I hope this helps - edited January 2017YOU SIR are a magician, I cannot believe I have been trying to fix this with XS in the background (a normal working day and the main reason XS is on is because could not use VS ) and had basically given up until your comment.THANK YOU!
- edited February 2017Hello there , I am trying to use the same thing , but i am not good with Putty stuff , I am getting
Unable to open connection:
Host does not existDoes anyone know how to fix this one ? - I eventuallu got it working using Chris' very helpful tutorial and this answer
- Close Visual Studio (Win)
- Set up putty according to tutorial
- Close adb server in OSX
- Start VS on Windows
- Use menu Tools > Android > Restart ADB server until device show up
Side note:
To have my Win keyboard working (@ < and AltGr) in Win i run Parallels full screen.
This will of course not be so good for switching to the OSX simulator.
You could however use the laptop's CMD + Tab buttons
